Satellite Connectivity using LoRaWAN®

Overview

In collaboration with EchoStar Mobile, an EchoStar company, Murata introduces Type 2PT module (LBAA0ZZ2PT-001), a highly effective and unique satellite IoT connectivity solution that connect and monitor assets in non-terrestrial areas where traditional cellular or fiber connectivity falls short in the European and North America markets.

The Type 2PT module (PN: LBAA0ZZ2PT-001) extends LoRaWAN® connectivity via S-band satellite on the EchoStar Mobile network. This solution utilizes latest RF IC for uplink only solution optimized for static, non-mobile use case. The inclusion of a temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and high-quality crystal oscillators precise timing and reliable data transmission, even in varying environmental conditions. Additionally, the module features a robust matching network and RF switch, which enhance signal integrity and connectivity. With multiple communication interfaces, including SPI and various GPIOs, integration into edge devices is a simple process.
