    Features and Benefits of efinnos:
    Maximizing Renewable Energy Utilization

Murata Manufacturing is introducing a control system based on power generation prediction and power consumption prediction to maximize the utilization of solar power generation. Combining this control system with storage batteries enables self-consumption energy management. This facilitates the efficient use of renewable energy to achieve both decarbonization and cost reduction.

Feature 01 Optimizes Self-consumption with Power Control that Maximizes the Utilization of Storage Batteries

efinnos employs AI to store surplus solar power generated during the day in storage batteries and to then discharge the stored energy when needed. Doing so maximizes the utilization of renewable energy and enables self-consumption energy management.

Feature 02 Reducing Peak Power Consumption Through Power Prediction

efinnos employs AI to predict peak power consumption times and then discharges energy from storage batteries precisely at those moments to cut power consumption at peak times. This lowers contract power to achieve both reduced energy costs and decarbonization.

POINT 03 Visualizing Power Data to Drive Renewable Energy Awareness

Murata’s efinnos enables real-time monitoring of solar power generation and the charge/discharge status of storage batteries through an intuitive web application. Clear visual displays on digital signage and PC screens make it easy for every employee to instantly grasp how renewable energy is being used. This fosters organization-wide awareness of effective renewable energy use, driving daily operational improvements and sustained commitment to sustainability.

Kanazu Murata Manufacturing's Clean Energy Park

The Murata Manufacturing Group has introduced Hokuriku's largest solar power and storage battery system in Kanazu Murata Manufacturing in the Fukui Prefecture. This is serving as an attempt to ensure that 100% of the power we use comes from renewable energy. As a result, due to the control effect from the integrated renewable energy control solution, efinnos, we were able to ensure that 100% of the power used at the location in November 2021 came from renewable energy.

    What is RE100?
Murata Manufacturing’s 100% Renewable Energy Target
    and the Role of efinnos

Murata Manufacturing joined RE100* in December 2020. This is an international initiative aiming to ensure that 100% of the power used in business activities comes from renewable energy. In 2024, we moved our projected timeline of achieving 100% renewable energy use forward by 15 years, from FY2050 to FY2035*.
To achieve this goal, we have installed large solar panels and storage battery units and are gradually introducing the integrated renewable energy control solution efinnos at our business sites inside and outside of Japan. This solution is our proprietary technology that enables real-time optimization for the use of renewable energy power generation.
