Implementation background
The customer wanted to perform predictive maintenance on the newly installed air-conditioning equipment in the clean room, but wired vibration sensors were expensive.
Curbing capital investment and performing predictive maintenance on the air conditioners were issues.
Implementation
・Installed wireless vibration sensors (total of eight sensors) in each air-conditioning unit to monitor the trends in the effective acceleration value
・When the effective acceleration value exceeds the threshold value, a Windows application provided by Murata issues a warning and notifies the manager of the need to perform an inspection
Results
・Predicted and prevented quality anomalies to curb the amount of capital investment (roughly 8 million yen over two years)
・Reduced the inspection time by automating the inspection work
